Biography

Born in Delaware, I studied Philosophy at Columbia, traveled the world, and worked in publishing before landing my first advertising job in Japan, at Dentsu, where I became fluent in Japanese and developed an interest in martial arts and hot-spring baths.

Helping clients like Coca-Cola and United Airlines in Japan and other Asian countries, then working with Canon and Toyota to launch new products in the US and Europe, has given me a unique multicultural business perspective.

At Dentsu, I worked for six years in Tokyo, five years in New York, and another three in Silicon Valley where he helped build Dentsu America's interactive division. Since then, I've worked with several Bay Area interactive agencies including SolutionSet and TribalDDB/SF and am currently with Catapult Direct, specializing in content marketing and demand generation.

A six-time EFFIE-winning advertising executive, I've counseled some of the world’s best brands in marketing and communications strategies. As my skills have evolved with the advance of the technologies at our disposal, I strive to bring a holistic approach to clients seeking to better integrate the variety of communications and marketing channels they have to manage. From brand architecture to point-of-sale, top-of-funnel awareness to demand-gen strategies, live events to digital experiences, and one-to-one communications to the many-to-many challenges of social media management, I help brands navigate the Web 2.0 world.

My professional interests include brand strategy, creative development, demand-gen, design, digital services, public relations, social media, translation and writing, plain and simple.
